All-out Efforts to Operate a Thorough Security System in All Areas of the Airport

Vice Minister EO Myeong-so of the MOLIT visited Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport on the morning of 17 March and got briefed on the detailed circumstances and countermeasure situations regarding the finding of live bullet in an airport trash bin by a cleaner the day before, then, inspected the airport security check point.
Concerning the recent finding of live bullet by a passenger at the airport following the above, Vice Minister Eo, emphasized toward the Incheon International Airport Corporation, “Keeping in mind that this is a key security site used by more than 70 million people annually, we should operate a thorough security checking system without any error”.
Meanwhile, in connection with the finding of live bullets on board last week, apart from the fact that the joint investigation team of related agencies is examining the route of the live bullet, Vice Minister Eo expressed that the MOLIT will also focus on checking whether the response of airlines and Incheon International Airport Corporation was appropriate under the Aviation Security Act.
